Dirty Laundry

Running behind, as usual, I realized this morning that I hadn't done my wash from last week yesterday, so it needed to be done this morning before I left for Orange County this morning. So before I started our now traditional Sunday morning breakfast of gluten-free chocolate chip pancakes for the kids, I went to throw my laundry in the wash.

As I was moving the wet laundry that Theresa had started on Saturday into the dryer, I noticed bits of stuff falling about. I wasn't really sure what it was at first. I thought perhaps it was small bits of paper. But then I realized that it was small pieces of cheese. Seemingly slices of cheese, that had joined the clothing and linens in the laundry. It seems that someone decided that they didn't want to finish their sliced cheese, so they just wrapped it up in the napkin and tossed it in the hamper.

Now don't get me wrong... I've had my share of ball point pens left in pants pockets that have not only redecorated clothing, but have left artwork on the tub of the dryer. But I believe this is the first time that I have ever had to vacuum the inside of the washing machine, as well as the dryer. (I had already started loading the dryer before I noticed this, so there was a significant amount of cheese in the dryer as well. I suppose it was better to catch it before, rather than after it had been melted into a huge, stringy mess...
