Today I had the opportunity to meet two more of Natural Designs in Scrapbooking's far flung community.
Monica was one of the first people to find us and come and hang out with us. The surprising part is that she kept coming back! I was in Portland for work this morning and late last night sent her an email, giving her a very small window of opportunity for us to meet in less than 24 hours (because I am the king of procrastination, and just "hadn't gotten around" to letting her know when I'd be up here). Stunningly, amazingly, she called this morning and agreed to meet me for lunch with her son Thomas. We had a very enjoyable chat and lunch, and I learned that Monica is even nicer in person than she is in the computer!
While having lunch with Monica, my phone buzzed. I let it go to voicemail and checked my message a little later, as I was leaving the Portland area to head up to Seattle. While lunching with Monica, Helena called. Helena lives in the greater Seattle area, which is where I was headed this afternoon. And yes, I had also dropped an email to Helena late last night, offering her the same lame deal I had Monica... I'd like to meet you, but I'm only going to have a small window of opportunity. We traded phone messages about 5 times as the afternoon progressed, finally hooking up real time at about 5:30 via phone. We agreed to meet at a park and have some pizza. We met around 6:30 or so at the park, and if you've ever wondered why anyone would want to live in Seattle with all of its rain, you just need to go to this park for the answer. Right on the Sound, lushly treed, it was absolutely beautiful. I also got to meet Doug (DH) and Kate (DD). We had a relaxing evening, spent in a gorgeous environment.
If this keeps up, pretty soon everyone at NDISB will know that I'm not really green.
