Being a parent can be a journey fraught with peril, emotional distress, times of silliness and laughter. And this all before the arrival of your first child! Once they do arrive it just gets better.
While still an infant and toddler, Mattea's first experiences would often bring tears of laughter from her exhausted, awe-struck parents. Her innocence. Her sheer wonder of the world around her. The joy with which she experienced her new life.
With six years (six years!) worth of experiences under her belt, she operates with much more savvy in the ways of the world. Fortunately, not so much that she has become insufferable. Certainly though, she experiences fewer all-new experiences in day-to-day living. But she still occasionally offers amusement to her slightly less exhausted parents.
The other day, the kids watched television (The Disney Channel, which is virtually the only broadcast television that they watch) and a commercial played that caught Mattea's eye. (I think almost all, if not actually all, commercials on The Disney Channel are for other Disney Channel shows or Disney products.) A show was coming up that Mattea wanted Theresa to TiVo for her. (If TiVo is not yet a verb, it should be.) When Theresa asked Mattea what it was and when, Mattea told her the name of the show, and that it would be coming on at 8/7 central.
