Yet another weight loss program

But this one actually makes sense.

I was driving down the road, listening to the radio when the host of the talk show started talking to someone about weight loss. I forget who he was, or what his credentials were, but he said something about his weight loss program that I will probably never forget - weight loss is pretty simple... Eat less. Move more.

Duh, I hear you saying. But... how many of us actually do that? Eat less. Move more. I mean, and actually include both of those parameters in our weight loss program?

As with many, many things, weight loss is simple, but not easy.

I've decided to incorporate these parameters with a goal of my neighbors that has worked for him for 13 or 14 years. Lose 1 pound. Once he lost that, his goal was to lose another. He's easily in his 70's, possibly in his 80's. He's lost over 30 pounds in that time. Granted, this rate of weight loss would not be acceptable to some people. But I would say that a significantly higher proportion of the population experienced exactly the opposite experience of my neighbor, gaining 30 pounds over the last 15 years.

Incorporating all of the above ideas, I have lost my first pound over the last month or so. I seem to be keeping it off also, as my weight is now fluctuating about a pound lower than it was a month ago.

If I can lose 10 pounds over the next year, I'll be happy.
