Sunday
I think I already mentioned that we slept in this morning. That was kind of nice.
As Theresa made breakfast, I was writing my last blog entry. Then we had a nice meal, and Edwina and Mark got ready to leave. We saw them off safely shortly after.
Mattea's friend Catherine had a birthday party today for her sixth birthday. For some reason known only to Ann and/or John (Catherine's parents), they decided to invite 25 kids to a bowling party and apparently all 25 accepted. (Plus assorted hangers-on like Noah and Grayson.) It was in a special darkened party bowling room with blacklights, disco lights, very loud music and who knows how many kids and adults running around. All of the kids seemed to enjoy it. Catherine's birthday cake was a rather odd concoction. It seemed to be a birthday cake, but then it turned in to cupcakes, grouped closely, and all joined together by an extremely generous layer of fluffy, whipped cream style frosting. Unusual. (Or maybe not. I don't go to many parties for six year olds.)
We came home and none of the kids wanted to nap, so they watched some television. I still had my program to prepare for (you remember the one... the reason I decided to blog daily for a month or so?) So I sequestered myself in my office to get some work done. Then Edwina called saying that there was a fire which shut down I-5, and after a series of phone calls we determined that they were going to spend the night not far from where they were turned back. So I was made travel agent, and found them shelter for the evening (Thank you Yahoo!Maps - a very handy resource if you ever need to travel much). Then I was actually able to get a little work done.
We got the exhausted kids to bed, and it was time for dinner. Watched a little TV, ate, and now we're off to bed.
You really want me to keep this up for a month?
