When we had signed the boys out, and gone into their room to collect them, it became apparent that Grayson already has career aspirations: he took a class in "Self-barbering at the age of two".
We greeted them as we normally do - "Hi guys!", and asked Grayson what happened to his hair. He smiled and said "I cut it with scissors!" He didn't really need to tell me that as it was impossible to ignore. Now I had only recently given them their monthly (or so) buzz cuts, so his hair wasn't that long to begin with. But he had decided to place the scissors flat against the top of his head and start cutting. Somewhere above his right frontal lobe, I believe. By the way, the frontal lobe of the human brain performs the following functions:
Frontal Lobe- associated with reasoning, planning, parts of speech, movement, emotions, and problem solving
So, if you think about it, he was probably involving all of the functions, as he performed his task:
"If I place my scissors flat against my skull, right around here, I will probably shorten my hair if I move them by squeezing my fingers together. This will make me very happy. Also, it will solve that pesky problem - that is: people wanting to rub my head because my hair is short, and it feels neat. If there is no hair there, they will not want to rub my head!" I have no doubt he said this to himself whilst performing said act.
So, really, he was just using his brain!
